A kindergarten teacher on TikTok is going viral for revealing a new version of the alphabet song that is being taught at her Los Angeles elementary school.
The new tune starts out like the original. Fodor, 28, was notified of the change during a curriculum training in June. The new version was created by the company Dream English Kids in Fodor said that a large population of kids in her district are English learners, so the new song is extremely beneficial. The kids had no trouble adjusting to the change. Some commenters incorrectly thought the order of the letters changed.

Alphabet chants are a fun and engaging way to help children learn letter names and sounds. An alphabet chant is an alliterative rhyme that focuses on one letter and helps children practice listening for and saying that letter name and sound.
The repetition, rhyme and alliteration make it easy for children to repeat and remember the alphabet chant. As kindergarten teachers, we used alphabet chants weekly to teach alphabetic principle.
